While you are reading your novel you will complete a PowerPoint presentation indicating the development of a complex character in your novel by representing his/her development as a forced analogy AND the development of one of the thematic ideas from the OHS.

Follow the requirements below to fashion your presentation:

  • Slide 1: Title Slide (your name, your teacher, novel project, etc.) [3pts]
  • Slide 2: Introduce your forced analogy and your chosen theme [5pts]
  • Slides 3-5: These slides should illustrates in detail your forced analogy of the development of the complex character in your novel. You may use one graphic per slide that correlates with the information on the slide. [12pts per slide]
  • Your citations must use MLA formatting
  • Use the RACE method of analysis when appropriate
  • Any quotations should be embedded
  • Slides 6-8: These slides should explain in detail the development of one thematic idea from the OHS in your novel. You may use one graphic per slide that correlates with the information on the slide. [12pts per slide]

  • Slide 9: Fun Slide!  Use this slide to give a modern-day equivalent of your chosen character. Include photos and a detailed explanation of the parallelism between your character and chosen celebrity/modern character. [10pts]
  • Slide 10: Summary Slide – give a brief summary of your work to bring it to a close. This should serve as a sort of conclusion. [10pts]
  • Look to these pointers as you are creating your work:

  • You may have graphics included in your presentation. The graphics must ADD to the presentation and have PURPOSE. It may be a good idea to add graphics of something that represents your forced analogy or your theme!
  • While your background and fonts are left to your imagination, please remember that if I cannot read it, I cannot grade it!
  • You must use MLA formatting when citing your evidence!
